Occasionally I stop writing long enough to read books by other people. Here are some of the books on my shelves:

One-Eyed Jack
by Elizabeth Bear

I'd recommend anything by Elizabeth Bear, but I have a special place in my heart for this particular story. Strange, fantastical and wonderful book, from start to finish. Just read it.

Pride and Prejudice
by Jane Austen

Possibly my favorite book of all time (The Princess Bride gives it a run for its money). I love the sarcasam, the complete nonsensical behavior of many of the characters through Lizzie's eyes, and how, in the end, she realizes she's been a mirror image of it all, in a way.

The Princess Bride
by William Goldman

If you've seen the movie, you only know half the story. You must read the book. It is brilliant. Just brilliant.

Nightrunner Series
by Lynn Flewelling

If you're familiar with this series, the fact that I love it won't be a surprise. M/M romance with mystery, intrigue, and a fair amount of con artistry. But the world Flewelling has built all this in is just amazing, with magic and politics and dark forces that must be overcome, with losses along the way.

If you're not familiar with it? Buy it now. You can thank me later.
